Rena OEM Low-Voltage Water Pump w/Transformer 180gph/5.9 ft lift, 6ft cord

Question

Q: Can this pump (Rena OEM Low-Voltage Water pump, 180gph/5.9 ft. lift) be powered off of a landscape lighting transformer? We have low voltage wiring we have run under our patio into a corner of our garden where we would like to have a fountain - but don't want to use 110V power out there. I am hoping I can connect my low voltage wiring to this pump and use the lighting transformer. Please advise if this is possible.

Q: What is the connector type that connects the pump to the transformer? I need make an extension cable so that the transformer can be plugged into a power outlet 50' away from the pump.

It can be done but you may have to splice some wires to make things connect up. Also the transformer must put out AC power (12v) and not DC and the transformer must have enough watts left over from the lighting to power the pump.
