Q: The picture doesn’t show the clamps. Does it come with the canister. That is what has broken on mine?

Q: How recently was the canister manufactured? Just had a unit that is well over 10-15 years old develop stress fractures on two corners and of course got outstanding use out of it, but got me thinking about how old this replacement might be and would like to get another decade or more from this new one. Thanks for any help with this

Read the description for exact parts included. As the title says it includes "clips". But I'm not sure why you would be buying a whole new canister if only the "clips" are broken. If you mean the "bracket" that is molded into the canister and holds the clip then you do need a new canister. If you mean the actual clip then these are much less expensive and can bought also on our site.

These came into our warehouse at the same time as the filters which were delivered in October, 2019. We get orders about three times a year. Will you get 11 years this time? No way to know but these filters are built to last 5 years minimum and over 90% do when properly maintained.

A: Most parts from the old system will fit the revamped filters and vice/versa including canisters. The Filstar Filter system was revamped and renamed in 2012. The Rena Filstar is now called the API Filstar.

A: All baskets and canisters are interchangeable regarding fit. However, the size of the canister is matched to the size of motor so the proper flow is obtained for the filtration required.

A: It will fit your unit but you will have room for one less media basket. The XL has 4 baskets. The XL canister is also available but with all canisters stock is limited. Check back often.

A: This range of filters was discontinued 2-1/2 years ago. We have a limited supply of canisters and we will probably not get any more afters these are gone. So we are not offering any additional discounts.
