Q: Hello, how much bigger is the motor in the X2 compared to X3? I have a 60 gallon tank and have a 2X was thinking of putting a 3X motor lid in my current filter. Thank you

A: The physical size is the same. The flow is about 50gph more if you have both the motor and Filstar L rotor. If you use your current rotor the flow will be about the same. The motor coil itself does not add much flow.

We no longer have any gaskets or O-rings for the
Filstar. It was discontinued almost 5 years ago. All available parts are listed on our web site. If it is not listed we no longer have it. Sometimes gaskets and O-rings can be reconditioned and you might be able to find someone selling a used unit that you can use for parts.

This product was discontinued by the manufacturer, Mars Fishcare, in late 2019. The parts we still have are listed on our website, RENA Aquatic Supply. Sometimes the large Canister Oring can be reconditioned by washing it off with de-chlorinated water and applying a thick coating of Vaseline or water based silicone grease. The seals and O-rings were custom made for the most part and we have no information on sizes.
